This winter it is renewal time for our accreditation with ICANN. The process is more rigorous that it has been in the past, and its why we're revisiting our website, switching over from a set of static html forms to a php/mysql based dynamic content model, and moving from an ad-hoc system of registration to something we can actually describe.

For Maine people, that it worked was sufficient, and we'd call people when their registration was close to expiry, or we'd renew customers we knew and invoice them later. For people from Away, where fraudulent practices are more the order of the day, formal means better.

The general decline of the independent Maine ISP and telecoms markets due to the preferential policy of the FCC towards Verison and Time-Warner has resulted in the sale of the Prexar/USA and USA/Telecom. This affected our core and customer operations.
